The essence of the South China Sea (SCS) issue lies in the strategic competition between China and US in relation to politics,military and diplomacyMedia War is an inherent part of the US SCS strategyIn carrying out this Media War,the US makes a comprehensive employment of government statement,media report,and academic elaboration so as to achieve distinct communication effects with well-designed operational tacticsFirst,the US established a closely aligned cooperative mechanism joining the government,media and academics togetherSecond,it emphasized offensive media strategy so as to win initiative through active agenda settingThird,taking advantage of the cultural differences between east and west,the US makes full use of the language and the logic to its maximum potential by applying the double standards and biased interpretation of international rules and orderThe US SCS “Media War”played an important role in serving the US domestic politics,enhancing alliance with its allies,and containing ChinaThe intention and consequence of the US Media War worth a profound consideration from the ASEAN countries,and the methods and tactics applied therewith may give some inspirations for China

The construction of Russia-Japanese maritime and air liaison mechanism is not only effectively maintaining the safety of their ships and military aircrafts on and over the high seas,but also promoting military exchanges between Japan and Russia and facilitating the establishment of relationship of military mutual trustAlthough there still exist many problems,it has important implications for the establishment of the crisis management mechanism of the Sino-Japanese for joint control of the East China Sea disputesChina and Japan should strengthen exchanges in political,diplomatic and security fields,and the dialogue between both leaders should be resumed for further easing the tension in the East China SeaAt the same time,China and Japan should improve the communication mechanisms and actively explore the construction of maritime and air liaison mechanism to further enhance the ability of the two sides to manage risks and crises in the maritime dispute
